Framing

Mixed-media artwork featuring a palladium photographic print overlaid with watercolor painting and collage. The composition blends a woman with blossoming oak tree branches, symbolizing human interdependence with nature for the oxygen we breathe. This print is mounted on an archival board and framed in wood with UV protected plexiglass.

To protect artwork I work with framers who cut and finish the wood frames by hand. The artwork is professionally mounted on acid free, museum quality mat boards. I choose framing material that matches the handmade gampi paper on which the palladium printed image sits. This simplicity lets the artwork be the focus.

I use UV protected plexiglas which protects the artwork. I also may opt for Museum UV plexiglas which reduces the reflection of light on the artwork by 20%. This may be the choice for artwork that will be displayed in a room with light coming into the windows.
